Business, Accounting and Financial Studies
for Secondary Schools |

This textbook strictly follows the subject curriculum guide of the “Business, Accounting, and Financial Studies (BAFS)” (Secondary 4-6), jointly prepared by the Curriculum Development Council and the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority in 2007. Our mission is to present the fundamentals of business by challenging students to think and to make decisions. We emphasise the importance of connecting classroom learning to the business world and provide the students with the best support available for studying and learning business.
This book covers the compulsory parts, which provide a broad-based foundation for students to study the compulsory part, to explore their interests first before progress to their chosen studies. The four parts of this book are entitled: “Business Environment”, “Introduction to Management”, “Introduction to Accounting” and “Basic Personal Financial Management”. To nurture students’ interest and talent in business by developing in them the necessary knowledge and skills, related areas are put together to offer them a complete knowledge of the business world.
With texts easy to understand and stress placed upon clarity in presentation, this book is suitable for both students who have completed basic business education at junior secondary level as well as for students who are studying business for the first time. This book provides lists of learning objectives, reminders and key points in each chapter for students’ checking and to nurture their interest and talent in business.
